Lash Care

Proper way to care for your lashes...

Nightly  cleaning and conditioning is necessary to maximize the life of the extensions. NovaLash's nighttime conditioning/cleansing pads or a lash extension safe cleanser are perfect for cleaning the lashes free of any makeup or debris while moisturizing the lashes to maintain flexibility. Using a lash wand to comb the lashes free of tangles is also recommended. Be cautious with facial cleansers, beauty products or hair conditioner dripping onto your lashes. Wipe your lids and lashes with water after working out or excessive sweating. Avoid excessive heat from oven, grill, fire pit or steam from cooking. Excessive heat will straighten, singe or melt the tips of your extensions. Curling the extensions is not recommended as they are pre-curled and will shorten the lifespan of the extensions. Avoid picking, pulling or twisting, this can cause damage to natural lashes and lead to premature shedding.

Mascara is typically not needed with lash extensions. Mascara should only be used when a touch-up is drawing near. Water-soluble mascara can be worn; however, constant use of mascara may shorten the lifespan of lashes. Waterproof mascara is NOT recommended for use, as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes. Novalash glycol and corbonate free mascara is specifically formulated for use  on extensions without interfering with the adhesive.

Lash Shed

The average person has between 90-120 lashes per eye (upper lid). My goal is to extend all mature lashes on the average eye.

Each eye sheds approximately 2-5 lashes every day! So let's average this to 3 per day. This is what you can expect to shed...

Week 1 = 21 lashes

Week 2 = 42 lashes

Week 3 = 63 lashes

Each fill will be different depending on the lashes I have to work with.

Reasons your lash extensions don't last as long as they should...

  • You don't cleanse them.

  • You sleep on your side or stomach.

  • You don't comb them.

  • You wear the wrong makeup.
